PROCESS DESCRIPTION

Concentrating solar thermal power plants with an electricity production have to be integrated into the electricity grid. Both day- ahead and intra-day forecasting of the production and therefore direct solar irradiance forecasting is needed.

 

PROBLEM

Errors in the estimation of the generation forecast for the following day led to wrong daily declaration report to Masen and bad decisions for the operation of the plant

 

GOAL

The goal is to develop an artificial intelligence model to forecast the generation for the coming day based on the weather forecast.

 

BENEFITS

It will allow to increase the accuracy of the generation forecast and thus the daily declaration to Masen and better decisions for the operation.
